ENGLISH LANGUAGE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (ELIP) NOW IN CHINA!
The University of Windsor realises the challenges its international students face. In an attempt to make transition to the university smoother for its students coming from China, we offer them the unique opportunity to study English in their homeland. Students studying in the English Language Improvement Program in China will have the same experience as those studying in the English Language Improvement Program in Windsorwith the added advantage of staying in their own country!
This course is an extensive study for the duration of 8 weeks and is ideal for the student who is interested in:
- obtaining an undergraduate/graduate degree within a reputable institution such as the University of Windsor
- developing greater communication skills and conversation style
- developing greater grammatical accuracy
- increasing flexibility in writing, sentence structures and sentence combining
- strategies to develop reading skills and vocabulary
- basic paragraph structure and its components
- using academic source material to develop summarizing and paraphrasing skills
- cultural transitions
- developing effective listening skills
- becoming familiar with various documentation and citation styles for research and report writing
Students will have the opportunity to write a comprehensive final exam, which if successfully passed, would meet the English proficiency required for direct admission to the University of Windsor.
