SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNDERGRADUATES
The University of Windsor provides an array of programs that encourages and rewards academic achievement.
- Entrance Awards/Scholarships
- Who can apply?
International students applying for undergraduate admission to the University of Windsor.
- How are applicants considered?
International students are automatically considered when they apply for undergraduate admission. Scholarships are awarded based on high school academic achievement (university academic achievement as applicable if you are a transfer student).
- When is the scholarship confirmed?
If chosen as a recipient, applicants will be confirmed by letter and details of their award/scholarship are generally communicated on the admission offer.
- Outstanding Scholars Program
- Who can apply?
International students applying for undergraduate admission directly from high school to one of the pre-determined academic programs supported by the Outstanding Scholars Award.
- How are applicants considered?
International students are considered if they have achieved an equivalent of the Canadian 85% average or better on their high school transcripts. Average calculated for this purpose will be based on the best six university preparation course grades, interim and final as of May.
- When is the scholarship confirmed?
If chosen as a recipient, applicants will be confirmed by letter and are mentored by Co-ordinator of the Outstanding Scholars Program in their first year of studies. If eligible, recipients will undergo training at the beginning of the second year to work closely with faculty on various academic projects as part of maintaining their eligibility.
- University of Windsor Women in Engineering Scholarship
- Who can apply?
International students applying for undergraduate admission to Faculty of Engineering programs at the University of Windsor.
- How are the applicants considered?
International students that are women and are applying to a Faculty of Engineering program are automatically considered for this special entrance award.
- When is the scholarship confirmed?
If chosen as a recipient, applicants will be confirmed by letter and details of their award/scholarship are generally communicated on the admission offer.
- In-Course Scholarships/Adwards
- Who can apply?
International students that are in their second, third or fourth year of study at the University of Windsor.
- How are the applicants considered?
Applicants can log in to the myUWindsor portal using their student information at UWindsor.ca to search (Financial Matters tab > Award Search function > Find Awards button) and apply for available awards/scholarships/work study programs.
- When is the scholarship confirmed?
Applicants will be notified by the Student Awards Office with the contact information kept on file. Students should take care to update their information on file so as to not miss any important correspondences.
