University of Windsor Outreach - Côte d’Ivoire

Thank you for your interest in the University of Windsor, Canada's International University, and one of Canada's most popular choices in West Africa.

The University of Windsor recognizes that as an applicant from overseas, you face unusual barriers to accessing our high quality programs. It's a big step to come all the way from Côte d’Ivoire. As a result our International Outreach Office facilitates and make every effort to assist international students in regards to their applications for admission.

If you are interested in the programs that we do have, please contact us at the e-mail address below.

Choosing the University of Windsor is a wise investment

Jessica Djogo, a Business Administration major, learned English in just six months through ELIP.

Jessica learned English in six months through the English Language Improvement Program (ELIP) at the University before taking the required courses in her major.

"For me it was not difficult to learn English," said Jessica. "I didn't have anyone who speaks French so I had to speak English all the time and my Korean-Canadian roommate helped me to speak it well."

The transition from the ELIP program to the Business Administration and Computer Science program was not difficult either. Jessica attributes this to the professors and faculty at the University.

"The professors here are very helpful and are always available to students," marvels Jessica. "There are also teacher assistants who do their best to help students."

Choosing to study abroad is a difficult decision. There are many factors to consider, finance, programs, location etc. For Jessica finding the balance between quality of education and budget was a key factor. She looked into other universities before choosing the University of Windsor.

"Compared to other universities it is not too expensive," said Jessica. "Judging by the quality of education here, coming to the University of Windsor was a wise decision."

Jessica plans to further her education with an MBA and then work for an international organization, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in particular.

"I think I enrolled in an excellent program because after I graduate I will have many possibilities to find a job!" said Jessica. "With my degree, I am sure I can work anywhere in the world!"

Jessica is doing everything in her power to prepare for the future. She learned English in six months, studies hard, made many good friends and volunteers at an International Speaking Program where international students visit local high schools to talk about their home countries. It is designed to help students explore and develop excellent communications skills while introducing other cultures to Canadian students.

When asked what advice she would offer new international students. Jessica said: "If they come, they have to take their studies seriously, work hard and make friends because people here are open minded and outgoing."
