CITY OF WINDSOR

Windsor is a truly unique part of Canada. Situated at the central point of important rail, water, air, and land travel routes in North America, the city has become the Automotive Capital of Canada. The Detroit River, the world's busiest international waterway, forms a natural border between Canada and the USA. The Detroit Metropolitan Airport, the closest international airport, is just 40 minutes away.

The city has benefited immensely from "The Big 3": Chrysler, General Motors and Ford. As one of the world's major manufacturing centers, Windsor has become an important industrialized hub for research and high technology development.

Living in Windsor is an experience. With large Asian and South Asian communities, the city offers a wide variety of cultures. No matter where you are from, you can always find a part of home in Windsor. The city also has a vibrant nightlife that caters to a number of interests.

Don't worry about the weather: during the winter, expect milder temperatures versus the rest of Canada and northern United States. While in the summer, cool breezes from the river make the city a pleasant place to live.

The city of Windsor has many beautiful parks.

Everyone must see Windsor's beautiful riverside parks. Stretching across the south shore of the Detroit River, you can view sculptures and lush parks or attend concerts, fairs and a wide variety of cultural shows. For a more "natural" experience, take an hour drive to Pelee Point, the southern-most tip of Canada. Watch the eastward and westward currents of Lake Erie meet right before your eyes.

As a city, Windsor offers everything you could want, and more. For more information about Windsor please check www.citywindsor.ca For the City of Windsor's map please click here.
